As a young woman in Fort Wayne, I see lots of us youth struggling to find a career that we want to do in the future. "What do you want to be when you grow up?" well I don't know. Do I want something that will make me rich, do I want something that fulfills a specific passion of mine? What if I want to have a family? What if I want to stay in Fort Wayne?

I know I am not the only one with these questions, and I know the questions can linger for adults who already have a stable job and career. We all know someone who got a degree in Interior Design but ended up working as a second grade teacher. Or that one person who didn't get a degree and somehow makes $30,000 more than you every year. I want to dive deeper into the careers of Fort Wayne in hopes that I can spread positivity to those in my own Hometown, but also explore and write about what careers I find in hopes to help those who are lost and want to know what else is out there.

Well said Qady. It all starts with a conversation, establishing some dialogue between individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Like you said, a large portion of the youth today are struggling to find their "place" in this post-pandemic world that we live in. I'll let you in on a little secret too.. some of us adults, and our elders, feel the same. But it is the youth, the next generation, that will start the conversation and make a difference. YOU are the future. YOU are the legacy. It only takes a spark to start a fire and I'm proud of you for "sparking" the convo. I'm happy to help in any capacity that I can. Here's to the future!
